Join staff and volunteers who will be participating in this national webinar. The meeting will take place in the Board Room at the Arcadia Office.
This Webinar will focus on StoryCorps Legacy, a program of the national non-profit organization StoryCorps. Legacy provides people with serious illness of all ages and their families with the opportunity to record, preserve and share their stories. Legacy works closely with organizations such as hospices, palliative care departments, hospitals and cancer centers. While the StoryCorps model is not a clinical therapeutic intervention or a formal life review, Legacy provides an important and meaningful opportunity for patients, families, volunteers and staff to take advantage of the power of storytelling and listening at critical stages in life.
During this Webinar, StoryCorps will describe the benefits of reminiscence and storytelling in healthcare communities, review tips for conducting supportive conversations and discuss different ways organizations can record interviews with StoryCorps.
At the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the benefits of reminiscence and storytelling in healthcare communities
- Identify strategies for conducting supportive conversations
- Discuss different ways organizations can facilitate meaningful life review
